Another weekend, another attempt at testing that didn't happen. I was due in for my VHF licence course on Sunday so we had to make the earlier part of the weekend - unfortunately though, this is what we woke up to....
Now, the fog did clear a bit, but then someone got stuck in the
channel (centreboard gone wrong), which pretty much spelled the end of
testing. On the plus side though, the sun came out and I cracked on with
fitting lifting rings, a drain plug and a protective rubber strip to
the alu tender. That and we did some testing of various configurations
of 8hp and 15hp 2-stroke outboards on the alu tender and an Avon 3.10
RIB. Needless to say, I'm shopping for a 15hp as I type this....
Anyways,
cranked up the tender onto the davits on Saturday morning. These two
photos make the tender look quite high & out of place - from side on,
all looks much more in perspective. On passage, the kayaks will live on the aft deck, and the tender will be upturned on the foredeck. Sunday was then spent sat in a classroom knocking off my VHF. Maybe next weekend....
